Service Opportunities Hang out with the teen moms at Reagan High School in a relaxed, group setting to develop relationships with them. The purpose is to lovingly guide, encourage, and empathize with them. The actual commitment details are: 8:45am - 10:15am, one Thursday per month & 10:30-11:15am OR 12:15pm-1pm the other two Thursdays. This is a family friendly service opportunity where, most of the time, bringing your kids is encouraged. You can also serve by providing snacks on a rotating basis or donating gently used baby gear or clothes. Working with middle and high school students in the St. John community of east Austin, mentoring them with the love and truth of God’s word. Through spending one hour a week with a student, mentors form a safe relationship in which important mental, emotional, and spiritual growth can be cultivated and encouraged. Current mentoring opportunities target 5th and 6th grade students who are about to transition from elementary to middle school. The next available orientation isn’t until April, but if you are interested in attending it, please sign up and we’ll contact you with more details as the orientation details get finalized.
