WHAT IS PORTICO?

The Portico is the part of Solomon's Temple where all were welcomed and where dialogue was encouraged.  All nations and thoughts were greeted with open arms and open minds.  Portico at the BSM is a place for everyone, no matter your faith background or spiritual depth. It is a place where dialogue is welcome and encouraged rather than a forum for a bunch of Christians to tell you what to think.

WHAT ARE PORTICO GROUPS?

Life is meant to be lived in community, not in isolation. This is where Portico Groups come into play.  We see in the creation story that God says "it is not good for man to be alone" before the fellowship between the creator and the created was broken by the original disobedience. The Longhorn BSM has Portico Groups that meet weekly on Thursday evenings after Portico to offer an entry point for community and discussion.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Every THURSDAY night at 7pm we host Portico in the BSM at 2204 San Antonio Street (Moontower). During this time, the BSM community gathers for worship and teaching from Scripture. At 8pm, we spread out into Portico Groups of 6-8 people and discuss the scripture from Portico and how it can apply to our lives. You can also look forward to a hang out time afterward!
